Viewport Transitions
Every viewport helper has an async twin that takes a duration. Jumping between two far-apart parts of a graph loses the reader; a short eased transition tells them which way they travelled. Grabbing the pane mid-flight abandons the transition rather than fighting it.
Start a long transition, then drag the pane: the drag wins outright, because a
transition that kept easing towards its old target would fight the pointer.
