Interaction Guards

Three CSS classes carve interactivity back out of the canvas. Drag the slider or select the text in the top node: neither moves it, because they sit in a 'nodrag' area. Scroll the list in the second node and the list scrolls instead of the canvas zooming, because it is marked 'nowheel'. The panel top-right is marked 'nopan', so dragging it does not pan.
