Copy & Paste

Select some nodes and press Ctrl/Cmd+C then V, or X to cut, or D to duplicate. Cloning a selection sounds trivial until the details bite: ids must stay unique across repeated pastes, edges have to be rewired to the copies, an edge leaving the selection must not come along, and a copied child has to land inside the copied parent rather than drifting out of it.
